Hoodoo River Grand Slam
7-night / 6-full days guided fishing
Available: July 25 – August 22
Few rivers in Alaska can offer what the Hoodoo (Sapsuk) does—access to all five Pacific salmon species at the same time. In late July and early August, the river comes alive with late-run Chinook and Sockeye, peak numbers of Chum and Pink Salmon, and the first arrivals of Coho. It’s not uncommon to hook all five species in a single day—sometimes even from the same pool—all on the fly.
During this period, anglers can also target Rainbow Trout and Dolly Varden, rounding out an unforgettable fishing experience. The Hoodoo’s proximity to saltwater means fish arrive bright and full of fight. In particular, our Chum Salmon are known for their aggressive takes and raw power, averaging around fifteen pounds and delivering some of the hardest fights pound-for-pound in Alaska.
For added adventure, this package includes an optional 2-day/1-night fly-out to the upper Hoodoo or one of our nearby wilderness rivers, where you’ll find exceptional fishing for Rainbow Trout, Dolly Varden, and more wild salmon.
